What we collect, and why.

Who we are

Curious Digital Things operates the website curiousdigitalthings.store and sells digital workbooks. You can reach us at support@curiousdigitalthings.store about anything in this policy, including requests to access or delete your data.

What we collect

When you buy something

• Your email address — needed to deliver your download and to contact you about your order.
• Your name and billing details — collected by our payment processor to complete the transaction.
• Order details — what you bought, when, and how much you paid.

We never see or store your full card number. Payment details are entered on the checkout page hosted by our payment processor and handled entirely by them.

When you join our email list

• Your email address only. You can unsubscribe from any email we send, and we act on it immediately.

When you just visit

Our hosting provider records standard server and security logs, which may include your IP address, browser type, and the pages you requested. These are used to keep the site running and to protect it from abuse.

What we don't do

• We don't sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
• We don't email you marketing unless you opted in.
• We don't require an account, so there's no profile or password to lose.

Who we share data with

Only the services we need to run the shop, and only what they need to do their job:

• Hostinger — website hosting, online store, checkout, and order processing.
• Our payment processor — to take payment and issue refunds. They handle card details directly; we don't.
• Our email delivery provider — to send your download link, order confirmations, and any list emails you signed up for.

These providers may store data outside Australia. We only use providers that commit to protecting the data we pass to them.

Advertising

We advertise on platforms including Facebook and Instagram (Meta). If we run advertising or analytics tracking on this site, it may set cookies or use similar technology to measure whether an ad led to a visit or a purchase. This can involve sharing a hashed identifier, such as your email address in encrypted form, with the ad platform to match conversions.

You can limit this through your browser's cookie settings, your device's ad-tracking controls, and the ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram account.

Cookies

The site uses cookies that are necessary for the shop and checkout to function — for example, remembering what's in your cart. Advertising and analytics cookies, where used, are described in the section above. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, though checkout may not work correctly without the necessary ones.

How long we keep it

• Order records — retained as long as required for tax, accounting, and legal obligations (generally five years in Australia).
• Email list — until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete you.
• Support emails — kept while relevant, then deleted.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

• tell you what personal information we hold about you;
• correct it if it's wrong;
• delete it, where we're not legally required to keep it;
• stop sending you marketing email.

Email support@curiousdigitalthings.store and we'll action it. We aim to respond within 30 days. If you're in the EU or UK, you also have rights under the GDPR, including the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In Australia, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, and payment and order data is handled by established third-party providers on their own secured infrastructure. No system is perfectly secure, but we don't hold card data ourselves, which removes the highest-risk category entirely.

Children

Our products are sold to adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has given us their information, email us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top of this page. Material changes affecting how we use your data will be announced by email to anyone on our list.
